The Walker County Fair Association recognizes the importance of academics in the lives of our youth; therefore, the Academic Rodeo provides an opportunity for students in kindergarten through eighth grade to compete in Math, Spelling, Arts & Crafts, and Creative Writing. On Sunday afternoon, students from across the county gather to showcase projects they have created at home, solve math problems, and participate in a written spelling bee. Creative Writing will be completed on site this year. The event concludes with an awards ceremony that celebrates students who have been selected as winners in their respective grade divisions.
