The Walker County Fair Association realizes how important academics are in the lives of our youth; therefore, the Academic Rodeo is an opportunity for students in Kindergarten through Eighth grade to compete in the areas of Math, Spelling, Arts & Crafts, and Essay events. On Sunday afternoon, students from across the county meet to show off projects that they have created at home, solve math problems and have a written Spelling Bee. They also have the opportunity to read all of the essays that are submitted a few weeks earlier and celebrate with those who have been chosen as the winners in their division. Immediately following the competition is an awards ceremony that highlights the winners of each graded division.
