Our 36th Year
Special Kids Rodeo
Each year, the Rodeo Committee and other special groups invite Special Education students from Walker County in grades K-12 to come to the Fairgrounds for an afternoon of fun with PRCA Cowboys and Clowns, Walker County Cowboys, Walker County 4-H and FFA members and a large number of those who want to see these students have a great time at the fair.

The Grand Entry leaves the Main Building and heads through the Fairgrounds to the Rodeo Arena where they meet the Cowboys for stick horse races, horseback riding, roping, "barrel" bucking bull riding, pictures with the clowns and lots of other fun.

After a group picture is taken, the excited students return to the Main Building where The Junior Service League of Huntsville provides supper and a treat bag for each participant. Each participant also receives a special t-shirt from Advantage Specialties and M&M Design.

Outstanding Cowboy and Outstanding Cowgirl awards are presented at the end. All of the participants have a wonderful time and so do those who come to help or just to watch the group.

This event is held at 4pm on the first Friday of the fair. Check the calendar section for specific dates.
